Signs for a Troubled Planet

In 1984, it was proposed by the Reagan administration that America take on the military task of building a weapons defense system in space. Known as the strategic defense initiative or SDI, the idea was to construct orbiting space laser platforms and defensive weapon systems to destroy in-coming nuclear missiles. The cost of this initiative was billions of dollars with no guarantee the system would even be effective. SDI would take the arms race to a new level, possibly triggering an all-out nuclear war. Signs for a Trouble Planet, besides containing some of my purely analog electronic music compositions, brings to light the issue of modern day warfare, and ends with a sobering reality we must avoid.
