Videos

Here you will see the work I do as a video producer. My video style encompasses real life images, video animation, documentaries, and live performances. In all cases, the video concept is defined as my exploration into the video art form through the lens of contemporary culture. Although I do not have the ability of being a videographer, that is to say, being able to see clearly through the viewfinder. However, as a video producer, creativity is the conceptual prime directive.

When I Look

When I look is a self-portrait video that presents the author as an ever evolving image through time. It begins with a multi-dimensional picture of the video’s producer, twisting and morphing. The portrait returns shortly upside down, and then progresses to a screen of white, leaving you wondering, what I saw.
My Old Home 9-15

This video shows the genesis of my old home during my childhood years, right up until I left College Point in 1975. It also show the last few days of its existence before it was demolished in 2003. In 1999 traveling back to New York to be with my mother-in-law's final days, a road trip took me back to College Point. Driving through the streets I knew so well, we drove up 23rd Ave. or the airport road, then turning right onto 127th St. passing the Clinets brassiere factory and the Esso gas station by Five Corners. Then turning left onto 11th Ave. then crossing 122nd street then turning right onto College Place, my old home and neighborhood appeared. The soundtrack is an audio sample rendering of the opening photo.
Chromium Tube

A musical and colorful journey that draws you into, and through a tube, taking you to an unexpected world outside of the tube’s existence. The darkness of empty space as you look at the tube’s location, causes us to wonder, where does reality lie? This video animation was created using U&I ArtMatic Designer.
Trip to Playland

Take a psychedelic journey to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and experienced the rides and attractions in a totally new way. The pirate ship rocks and dissolves into descending streams of colors, then framed pictures of kids riding the rides and the merry-go-round. Morphine into fractal wins, from the beach the boardwalk is surrealistic as you think of summer dreams in dark water. Suddenly, you are riding the roundup when everything turns into spirals of blue. Laugh and say goodbye to Laffin Sal.
Flatland in Space
Based on a Carl Sagan fable, once upon a time there was a two dimensional land called Flatland. Everyone within that two dimensional world only knew front and back, side to side. One day, a three-dimensional object lands in the center of Flatland. The inhabitants, having no concept of a three-dimensional being can only see what appears in the two dimensional world. They are frightened and unwilling to acknowledge the existence of a third dimension. For the flatlanders, height is just footprints on their two dimensional plane. Flatland in space is a video representation of a two dimensional world. Without the existence of height, the two dimensional world disappears when seen on axis.
Much Too Dumb (Live)

I produced this video in the Spring of 2017, Trump’s first term in office. I knew back then he would destroy our democracy, the definition of truth, deny the threat of climate change, eliminate the concept of legality, and give the American economy to the wealthy elite. Now here in 2025, as Trump again is the President and MAGA Republicans control all aspects of our government, I clearly underestimated the amount of hate and chaos, one man can inspire.
Mask

During COVID-19, to wear a mask would be an individual’s choice. Do we abide by the recommendations of the medical community, do we follow the masses, or do we do nothing. This is the struggle between science, faith, and skepticism. This single frame, music video is the sonic Journey through the confusion of COVID19 opinions.
1770Sick

This shameful video makes you wonder, how did we get here? The assault on the US capital on January 6, 2020, marks the first realization of democracies demise. Although Joe Biden won the 2019 presidential election, in the dark and silent background the level of hate by MAGA supporters continued to grow. Today in 2025, after Donald Trump  won the 2024 election giving him a second term in office,  American government acts more like a fascist state, or kingdom in the 14th century, than America was just a year ago. The top 1% gets billions of dollars in tax cuts, while the poor lose their Medicare and school lunches for their children.
The Newton Story

In the 17th century at the dawning of the age of enlightenment, Isaac Newton mathematically proved that the Earth traveled around the Sun by using the inverse square law. Galileo Galilee made the same observations earlier by using a telescope he designed. Of course, the Roman Catholic Church would hear none of this, and in fact threatened to execute Galileo unless he recanted. Despite physical observation, and mathematical proof, there are still people today who believe the earth is flat and science is just a theory.
The Genesis of Electronic Music

In 2018 at the Owen Hall Recording Studio, the entire genesis of electronic music was presented as an open house/studio tour featuring electronic music instruments starting with the Thermin, and ending with Airodrums, an invisible drum set triggered by light-reflecting sticks.
Cloud-V “ce que ç’est”

Using a $175,000 Steinway 9-foot grand piano as just a table, a Moog Voyager XL analog synthesizer, an Apple laptop computer, an Ableton Push2 pad controller, a 12-channel audio mixer with Ensoniq DP-4 effects processor, headphones for all performers, and a Moog Theremini, a magnetic field disturbance audio generator, commanded the concert hall stage. The video seen here was the first of two performances by the Cloud-V Ensemble. The video was a live in-studio performance with the Voyager keyboard, the Push2, and the Theremini. The second performance was live on stage at the Fay Spanos Concert Recital Hall during a Friday Concert Hour in the Spring of 2019. Unfortunately, It was not recorded. Special thanks to MIS student Darla Testino, composition student Kevin Swenson, and Professor Jeff Crawford for their participation in this electronic music showcase.
Digitalog

In March of 2014, on the stage at the Fay Spanos Concert Recital Hall, the iPad Orchestra premiered, “Digitalog.” This performance was the only time in Conservatory history, a six member iPad/iPhone Orchestra, conducted by David Dow, directly interacted via the Internet with an audience. Audience members could freely post to a special concert Facebook page instructions for the musicians to follow, and the conductor would then choose the instruction. The peace contained live musicians, touch technology, audience interaction, Facebook posting, and Internet connectivity. Unknown to the audience, the conductor would act as a filter, choosing only the instructions he wanted to use, if any. In another words, the audience interaction and participation was just an illusion of freedom, much like the unseen pervasive data collection by the Internet today.
Horizon
The need for energy transcends humanity. Whether it be wood to keep the fires burning to protect early man from predators lurking in the dark, to the power required for running all forms of transportation, technology, and the military. Without abundant energy, our world would surely collapse. In fact, the need for oil is the biggest Factor when it comes to war, greed, and political power. So, how much are we willing to sacrifice to have affordable and abundant  energy? Horizon is a still-frame music video that illustrates just two of the disasters relating to our need for energy. Unfortunately, those in control of our energy policies, directly profit from the profound cost we must pay as a civilization. Yes, energy is needed. But its environmental cost should not be placed on the backs of future generations.
