Albums
Here you will find the albums I composed, recorded, and produced over the past 45 years. As only electronic music technology provided the vehicle that would allow me to create and hear my music, the majority of works our produced using analog synthesis, magnetic tape, DAW applications, and plug-in instruments and effects. In my music, it’s all about the sound along with a great deal of experience through experimentation. Almost all the albums were recorded using some form of analog or electronic/computer music process. One exception is In the Universe by Hannaford and Crawford. This was a collaborative effort that merged together acoustic jazz instruments and electronic music devices. Recorded entirely on 8-track analog tape, the combination found in this 1984 electro-acoustic jazz album, makes for a very unique music listening experience. Although some of my music is tonal, containing pleasant melodies and ambient melodic textures, in many cases that is not the purpose of the album. As an artist it is my duty to reflect the contemporary culture through the art form and not necessarily for popularity. Therefore, scary musical images and disconcerting sonic textures will be experienced. In all cases, my music is thoughtful, passionate and honest.

For the best listening experience, please use headphones or if available, a pair of studio monitors. Also, if you click on the album cover graphic, you will find the track list.
Voyage to Nowhere (2024)
Voyage to nowhere is a passage through multiple musical dimensions, taking you from one genre extreme to the next. It combines both symphonic stylized works to electronic music soundscapes. The voyage even includes several contemporary pop music tracks, although lyrics are available, vocal tracks were never recorded.

Sound Fields (2020)
Sound fields are all around and everywhere we go. They may not always be melodic or pleasing. They are however, engaging. Like the calming sound you might hear when meditating in a church cathedral or the annoying sound of an autobody shop. This 2-CD set of sound fields takes you through a broad range of sound fields that are soothing, grating, percussive, and/or melodic. For more on Sound Fields, see soundscapes.

Contiguous Congruency (2019)
Contiguous Congruency starts you off searching for truth in Plato’s cave, then tosses you out at the end with a mystic. In between those philosophical bookends, are dark cloud spaces, memory flashbacks, twisted word processing, multiple flavors of scooped ice cream, and various shades of gray. This highly musical, yet provocative album Will keep you guessing and your ear engaged.

Much Too Dumb (2017)
Much Too Dumb is a colorful musical album filled with exciting melodies and electronic music collages. Electro symphonic beats and powerful rhythmic sound shapes keep you wondering, what’s next? The title track is presented as a symphonic rock song, but has an undertone of things to come (see ProfJeff videos for a sobering unplug performance of Much Too Dumb).

Digital Nightmare (2014)
While walking home from work, I observed a group of students walking on the sidewalk. None of them were talking to each other, but they all were looking down at their smart phone. Is this how they were communicating? Digital Nightmare speaks to the destiny of our future existence. Programed, AI policed, and without freedom. Meanwhile, our planet knows none of those issues.

When I Look (2010)
When you look at today’s economic environment, what do you see? People coming together to tackle our most challenging political and critical environmental issues, or greedy men trying to grab all that they can, regardless of humanity. When I look, I see war for profit, distraction for control and human life viewed as a cheap commodity. This kind of darkness happens whether we believe it or not. Hopefully, at the end, an enlightened force will take us past the misery and move us through and onward to a positive future.

My Old Home 9-15 (2005)
The house I grew up in was precious to me and my mom. Built by my grandfather in 1922, my mom was born in the upstairs front bedroom. My entire youth culture lived in that house and although it was unusual from the start, I would not change any of the creative moments spent at 9-15 College Place. In 1975 my old home was sold as suggestions to move to California were considered. Then in 2003, my old home was raised to the ground and replaced by a modern four Plex multilevel dwelling. This album is a memorial to that house in college point where the roots of my unique creativity, and artistic passion was born. (See video for My Old Home 9-15)

Meditones (2002)
To suffer through the painful experience of childbirth requires focus, patience, peace, and timing. As new life enters its unknown world, parents meditate on the potential of what will that new life bring? Once born, the hope of a better future is always a part of possibilities. No matter the outcome, life will continue. It is up to us as parents to provide for the basic needs of our children, such as food, water, a safe place to live, and most of all, love. This is a commonality all humans on this planet share regardless of race, color, ethnicity, gender, sexual identity, and/or station. Meditones music has no identity. It just rises and falls with the flow of time, in the form of pure sinewaves .

I Digital Oh (2000)
A profound and vital message for the new millennia, opens this album. How will humanity conduct itself for the next 100-years? With the rapid growth in the biological sciences, coupled with the explosion of information technology, along with computer automated systems may bring us to a world where basic human values will decay into an unrecognizable form. Surrounded, we may feel alone. Even mother nature may turn on us, leaving death and destruction in her wake. Meaningless words, and a changing environment will be the puzzle that must be solved

Music from the Moon (1996
Music from the Moon is a delightful collection of melodic MIDI music compositions. All the tracks were produced using an Apple IIci computer running Logic Pro 6. The sound or instruments were created using several MIDI sound modules including a Yamaha SY99 keyboard workstation controller, a TX802 sound module, a TG500 sound module, and a Roland JV1080 sound module, all connected via MIDI to an MX8 MIDI interface. An AKAI S900 audio sampler was used for all acoustic samples. The track heard here was the theme song for KUOP’s news talk program, World Review.

Signs for a Troubled Planet (1986)
In 1984, the Reagan administration proposed America take on the military task of building a weapons defense system in space. Known as the strategic defense initiative or SDI, the idea was to construct orbiting space laser platforms and defensive weapon systems to destroy in-coming nuclear missiles. The cost of this initiative was billions of dollars with no guarantee the system would even be effective. SDI would take the arms race to a new level, possibly triggering an all-out nuclear war. Signs for a Trouble Planet, besides containing some of my purely analog electronic music compositions, brings to light the issue of modern day warfare, and ends with a sobering reality we must avoid.

In the Universe (1984)
This electro-acoustic jazz fusion album was a collaborative effort between myself and the late great Bill Hannaford. Bill Hannaford was an incredible multi-instrumentalist. He played trombone, upright bass, electric bass, steel and bamboo flute, and even played a 1873 helicon baritone horn. He was a jazz mentor to me and good friend. All the music on In the Universe was inspired and channeled through the universe as an inspirational and spiritual creative energy force. The entire album was recorded over 2-years in my 8-track analog studio at my hone in Stockton California.

The Lonely Island (1982)
Alone in the great blue ocean lives an Island. It is sad because it thinks it’s alone. Suddenly, it hears the sound of bugs, birds, and other creatures. Listen, just listen. Then, the sound of a family with a little boy finds the island. The boy wonders about the island, asking many questions. How does the seaweed make little fences around the shore? Why doesn’t the island float away. Finally the island realizes that it’s not alone. It is part of the great Earth. The Lonely Island, a 3-movement ballet, was the first full-length electronic music album produced in my studio in California. It utilize both analog and digital synthesis. The digital synthesizer was a Mountain Music System with an 8-bit stereo card in an Apple II computer with a Sound Chaser keyboard.

The Sounds of ProfJeff is a sampler that contains a wide range of hand-picked selections from my album library. You will hear some of my favorite compositional works. There are 11-tracks, totaling 79-minutes of music. For the best listening experience, a good pair of stereo headphones, or high-end studio monitors is recommended. The Angel Pig of Christmas (compilation)
The angel pig of Christmas is a musically magical holiday excursion. The spirit of the Christmas season comes to life with arrangements of traditional carols along with my original Christmas compositions. Christmas wins and tinkling bells takes you through the holiday as you dream of childhood Christmases long gone by. The collection is composed using both synthesized sounds and high-quality sample libraries. The album contains 17-tracks for a total of 68-minutes of Christmas cheer.
